Covid-19 One Year Later: Stronger Together

With over 123 million Covid-19 cases recorded worldwide since the start of the pandemic and 400,000 of them right here in Maryland and our surrounding service areas, the last 12 months have undoubtedly been tough for us all and changed many lives. Through massive disruptions to everyday life as we all knew it, one year later, we're finally starting to see light at the end of the tunnel with over 2 million vaccines being administered daily in the United States.

The Race to Research COVID-19 Variants and Vaccines

On the heels of Johnson & Johnson receiving emergency use authorization (EUA) for it's COVID-19 single-shot vaccine, researching the various vaccines' efficacy to emerging variants continues. Research labs across the world like Janssen Pharmaceuticals where the J&J vaccine was developed, continue to collect and analyze data while the EUA vaccines are in use.

COVID-19 Testing Becoming Our New Normal

While much of the world's focus has turned towards COVID-19 vaccination efforts, testing for the highly contagious disease remains imperative in the process to slowing the spread. Many states here in the U.S. have continued implementing various actions to develop testing plans as activities and operations of community infrastructure adapt to local, state, and federal coronavirus regulations.
